About

An early-stage research trajectory, built one documented step at a time.

Raman Nafarieh is an undergraduate student in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, Tehran. His research activity centres on one focused biomedical nanotechnology project, carried from laboratory formulation through to scientific documentation, patent filing, and international presentation.

The trajectory has been continuous: research training under formal laboratory supervision, hands-on formulation and physicochemical evaluation, cell-based laboratory work, scientific documentation, and — building on that foundation — intellectual property filings and participation in international invention forums.

He now also mentors younger researchers at the Iranian Youth Science and Technology Center, while continuing his degree and developing the same formulation approach toward broader biomedical nanotechnology questions.

Featured Research Project

Evaluation of a Novel Herbal Nanogel Formulation on Skin Cancer Cells Utilizing the MTT Assay

A chitosan–hyaluronic acid nanogel matrix was formulated with plant-derived extracts — Viola odorata, curcumin (from Curcuma longa), and Spirulina platensis — then characterised for physicochemical stability and taken through cell-based laboratory evaluation using the MTT assay.

This project is the basis of the patent applications, the published abstract, and all five award recognitions documented below. The full research paper is not published on this site; it is available to academic reviewers and institutions on request.

  • Materials Nanogel matrixCarbopol 940, chitosan, hyaluronic acid, propylene glycol, glycerin, triethanolamine.
  • Extraction Soxhlet, ethanol-basedApplied individually to Viola odorata, Curcuma longa, and Spirulina platensis.
  • Characterisation Physicochemical evaluationAppearance, homogeneity, pH 7.2, viscosity, six-week stability, spreadability, diffusion, and irritation testing.
  • Cell work HDF-1 human dermal fibroblastsSourced from the Pasteur Institute of Iran; cultured in DMEM under sterile conditions and counted on a Neubauer hemocytometer.
  • Assay MTT viability assay10,000 cells per well across a 96-well microplate; absorbance read at 540 nm on an ELISA reader.
